Blog Administrative Stuff
I’ve been doing some blog work today. Here are some changes:
- I put up the couple of comments for Stuff What Boys Can Do and Street Luv that have just been sitting in the moderation queue. Sorry for the delay!
- I tried re-uploading another sidebar picture with new text. On my browser (Firefox), it uploads looking choppy. If I switch to another tab and switch back, it looks great. Haven’t figured out what that’s about yet, but let me know if any of you are seeing any problems with it. I have another version of that sidebar picture with larger text (omitting the last paragraph to fit), so let me know if you think that one would be better.
- I changed the block quotes so they are no longer all in italics. I had received some complaints that this made the Stuff What Boys Can Do and Street Luv lists very difficult to read, since they’re pretty much all block quotes.
- I updated to WordPress 3.0, then updated my theme. Once I updated my theme, all my custom formatting disappeared. Not sure why. Still working on it. It is the weekend and it is very sunny out, so I may quit before I’ve fixed it. So, if everything looks all blank and white and boring, that’s not the permanent new look, that’s just the “Harriet is out rollerblading” look.

Okay, fixed it. Deleted the upgraded version of my theme that broke everything, went back to the old version, will deal with whatever the hell later.
I added a Popular Posts section in the sidebar.
I added a Share It feature at the bottom of each post. I populated it with the email and networking sites that, according to my site stats, get used the most to share my blog. You can find more by clicking on the Share/Bookmark link.
If enough people use the Share It feature to email things, I can add a neat Most Emailed Posts thing to the sidebar, but that is just for fun.

That’s it for the day, goddammit. My bear said, “Let’s get Jamba Juice and babkas!” but I heard Jamba Juice and vodka, and that is now the plan.

I’ve got FireFox and everything looks good so far, I haven’t cruised around too much yet though.
Onto more important things, you could probably make a chocolate-vodka babka sauce. I’m just theorizing here (which is how most recipes start), but if you added a bit of it to the chocolate as it was melting on the stovetop, or after it melted in the microwave, you should be able to just stir it in.
